Born in Carmarthen, Gillian was bought up at Llanbed. From a young age, she competed at local Eisteddfods and took part in school concerts.
At eighteen she was granted a place at Wales’ Music and Drama College, Cardiff, and following from her performances at College, she was offered work.
In 1975, Endaf Emlyn announced that he had discovered a new, sensational voice for his Roc Opera production ‘Melltith ar y Nyth’ for the BBC. Gillian Elisa was the owner of this voice.
She is one of Wales’ best known within the entertainment industry. And for three decades, she’s appeared regularly on television, film and on stage as actress, comedian and singer, in Welsh and English.
Although her demands as an actress are high, the singer insists on moving ahead, and she has already published two albums on SAIN records.
