Nia was bought up in Swansea, and taught to play the harp at a young age. She performed locally, and received the honor of becoming a member of the Gorsedd of the Bards, and leading harpist in the National Youth Orchestra of Wales. She graduated in Music at the City University London, before spending two years at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
She worked as a professional harpist in London for fifteen years, playing in orchestras, concerts and recording with famous artists such as Bjork, Meat Loaf and Martine McCutcheon. She was the resident harpist at the Ritz, Mayfair and Hyde Park hotels. She thoroughly enjoyed playing in West End shows such as ‘Beauty and he Beast’, ‘The King and I’ and ‘Oliver!’
After moving back to Swansea, Nia enjoys raising a family, teaching and playing the harp on different occasions, as well as being a member of the folk group Cromlech.
