When a natural tenor’s voice is combined with a warm personality, you have something that immediately appeals to the Welsh heart. The combination is obvious enough in this genial singer from Lampeter, Timothy Evans.
The singer-postmaster from Lampeter first came to prominence at the National and Llangollen Eisteddfod, but is now well used to entertaining audiences throughout concert halls in Wales, on television and radio. He has toured Australia, Hong Kong and America three times and his concert diary is always full. He has three accompanists, depending on the concert venue.
Timothy was offered a place at two Musical Colleges – London and Manchester – but his love for his animals and his homeland was greater than his ambitions for success in singing. He has been a Postmaster at Lampeter for over 20 years after helping his parents at the Post Office in nearby Silian as a child. He holds some land at Silian and breeds Shetland ponies, and is a champion breeder of Torwen Sheep and Bantam hens!
His albums for SAIN have all been best-sellers.
