TOM EVANS
Biography
Tom Evans, usually known as “Tom Gwanas” , is the embodiment of the best of Welsh amateur culture, for he is amateur only in the technical sense, being a farmer in his everyday life. In all other respects, he is a “professional”, a singer of great musicality, technical prowess, and vocal control. But his main asset is a baritone voice of exceptional warmth and timbre.
He has won the National Eisteddfod Blue Riband on two occasions, and plies his trade as a soloist with the famous Cor Godre’r Aran, of which he is a long-standing member, and with which he has sung in several countries, including sell-out concerts at the Sydney Opera House.
