It is very difficult to say precisely how old these songs are, though it is evident tat some are considerable older than others. They mainly reflect the rural way of life, though there are more recent and urban connections to songs such as "Ffarwel i ddociau Lerpwl" ("Farewell to Liverpool docks") and "Sosban Fach", known the world over as Llanelli's rugby anthem.
