Meic StevensMeic Stevens has been, without doubt, the major figure of Welsh popular music since the 1970s. He has composed a wealth of songs, and performed them in his own inspired but erratic fashion for four decades, and is still going strong.

He grew up in Solva, Pembrokeshire, but has lived in Cardiff for many years. He has played a key part in the development of Welsh contemporary music, and helped to pioneer the art of studio recording in Wales.

Meic made his first album, 'Outlander' for Warner Brothers during the 60s, but returned to work in Wales, and helped Sain with the early recordings. He recorded for Welsh label 'Dryw' and others, and now all these early tracks are available on the acclaimed triple-CD set "Disgwyl rhywbeth gwell i ddod", SAIN SCD2345.
Since the early 80s, most of his recordings have been for SAIN, and a box-set is planned of all his major albums for 2006.
Through his live performances, his recordings, and his compositions, Meic Stevens has inspired thousands of people, and inspired countless other singers and composers.

His biography has been published in Welsh and English, as well as collections of his songs.
