SO YOU WANT TO MAKE A CD?

SAIN's central role is releasing commercial recordings by contracted artists, but we also offer different methods of releasing a CD, for example:

SAIN RECORDING PACKAGE
This is the ideal way to make a professional recording of your choir, band or solo artist – and raise funds at the same time! Ideal for schools, chapels, choirs, clubs etc

The Sain recording package includes ...

- 2 days recording
- two consecutive days under the direction of a Sain producer and engineer - both experienced in your field of music.

This may take place either
A – in a location of your choice, which may be your usual rehearsal hall or another venue that you may wish to hire. (Sain can also suggest suitable venues). A good piano is essential and this is the artists’ responsibility.
Or
B – at Sain’s studio near Llandwrog. It can accommodate up to 50 choristers/musicians, and a Yamaha grand piano is available.

Digital Editing and Mastering
You are welcome to be present when your CD is being digitally mastered in Studio 2 or 3 at Sain. You will receive a copy of the final master-tape to listen and approve before duplication.

Cover design and printing
CD sleeve and inlays will be in full colour and professionally designed by our in-house designer. You’re welcome to send us photographs and further information and credits for the CD sleeve and you’ll receive proofs for approval before the final printing.

Copyright clearance and payment
Sain will be responsible for clearing all copyright permission and for all copyright payments. We also offer a comprehensive registration service for all new works with the PRS and MCPS. This is essential to ensure that composers receive all their due payments. Translations take time clear, so it’s vital that you send us a full list of your intended repertoire as soon as possible - and if you wish to sing a translation we will need a copy of the "new" Welsh words along with a literal translation of these words into English, perferably in some kind of computerised format.

Duplication quantities and prices
Please contact Sain for price list.

Re-orders at a special low price

World-wide distribution
Details of your recording will be included in the Sain catalogue, which is available throughout the world to numerous distribution companies and specialised stores as well as digitally through Apple iTunes and Sain’s website (www.sainwales.com). Any item from the Sain catalogue is available to the public and the media and may be ordered by mail, company website, email, phone, fax or through the hundreds of stores regularly supplied by Sain. A royalty is paid to you for every copy sold directly by Sain in this way. (If the CD is to be released on the Tryfan label some of the above services do not apply).

Paying for your CDs
You’re welcome to pay the full balance in one payment or split the balance into 4 payments, payable over 12 months from the receipt of CDs. If you wish to pay the full balance in one payment we can offer a 5% discount on the final balance, or if you prefer, we can add a specific quantity of free CDs to the original order (quantity depends on the size of original order).  Of course, it’s possible that you may have special requirements regarding your new recording – for instance, additional or non-consecutive recording days, or you may wish to negotiate a different financial package with us. We also offer a number of extra recording services such as enhancing the accompaniment by including additional instruments. The recording package is very flexible and we’re able to adjust our contracts to suit your specific requirements.
