Piantel - O'r Galon
Two of Wales’ finest instrumentalists, pianist Annette Bryn Parri and harpist Dylan Cernyw bring you an unique and enchanting musical experience that is Piantel. Their show features piano and harp duets and solos ranging from classical, opera, jazz, Celtic and Broadway.
Annette and Dylan have appeared at The Albert Hall, St Davids Hall and Symphony Hall in Birmingham as well as prestigious venues abroad including The Sydney Opera House. Both have highly successful solo careers and have appeared with most of Wales’ international opera stars. Between them they’ve recorded 5 solo CDs on the SAIN label and have accompanied on numerous recordings over the years. Piantel released their debut CD in 2007 to critical acclaim and their popularity resulted in an invitation to perform at 2007’s National Eisteddfod of Wales’ opening gala concert.
Annette was born in the village of Deiniolen in Gwynedd, where she still resides. She graduated at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and then joined the University of Wales, Bangor as a piano tutor. Annette has accompanied at the Royal Albert Hall on several occasions and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Georg Solti, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana have been amongst her private audiences. She has worked regularly with Welsh National Opera, and is currently performing as a soloist in a series of six Mass Male Voice Choir concerts throughout the North West. She made her debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2005, and performing there has now become an annual event. She has been the musical director of Côr y Traeth Male Voice Choir since 2002, and is one of the founders and director of the William Mathias Centre in Caernarfon. Annette has recorded and produced over forty CD’s, accompanying Welsh and International singers and choirs, and produced Bryn Terfel and Rhys Meirion’s CD ‘Benedictus’, which was nominated for an award at the Classical Brit Awards 2006.
Dylan lives in Colwyn Bay and was educated at Ysgol y Creuddyn, Llandudno. He received tuition by Gwennant Pyrs, Dafydd Huw and Robin James Jones. Dylan has won in the National Eisteddfod in 1989, 1991 and 1994, and was a winner in the Cerdd Dant Festival in 1992. He is one of Wales’ best- known harp accompanists and is always in demand at various festivals. He has performed extensively abroad as a Harp Soloist and Accompanist, and has appeared frequently on the BBC network and in the 1,000 Voices Festival at the Royal Albert Hall. He made his debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2005 with Annette. He is also engaged in a Mass Welsh Male Voice Choir Concert tour, appearing as a Soloist throughout the North West in theatres including the Liverpool Empire and Palace Theatre, Manchester. Dylan enjoys all kinds of music from light to classical, songs from the shows to current chart songs, as well as his first love, Cerdd Dant. He has released 3 CDs on the SAIN label.
