The South Wales Male Choir - Inspirations
Founded in 1982, CMDC has established itself as one of Wales’ leading male choirs. The choir is one of the largest in the principality, with over 120 members, drawn from all over the southern counties of Wales and from expatriates now living in England. CMDC has performed in many prestigious venues in the UK and abroad, including cathedrals and large concert halls. Several overseas tours have been undertaken by the choir to various countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia, France, Spain, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic. Breaking new ground, the choir recently competed successfully in the inaugural Majestic-Torquay Male Choir competition, coming first out of 12 choirs entered. In addition, the choir organises the Biennial Texaco Young Musician of Wales competition in partnership with its core sponsor Chevron.
